At PrintReviewer, our goal is to make buying printed products simple, honest, and transparent. We exist to cut through marketing claims and give people clear, fact-based comparisons of real printed products and the companies behind them. Every review starts the same way: we pay for the products ourselves, order them like regular customers, and judge them on what actually shows up—print quality, durability, color, finishing, packaging, pricing, and service. We never take money from printing companies for reviews, and we don’t sell “placements” or accept payment to change our opinions. Our mission is to earn trust by showing our work, explaining why one product performs better than another, and giving readers practical advice they can use right away. In short, PrintReviewer is here to be the independent voice that helps people spend their print budget wisely.

About PrintReviewer founder John Monsen
PrintReviewer founder John Monsen has worked in the print industry for over 20 years. In that time he has seen how confusing it can be for regular buyers to compare print quality, pricing, and service across different companies. PrintReviewer is his answer to that problem.
A career built on print quality
John started his career on the production side of printing, getting to know how ink, paper, coatings, and finishing choices actually perform in the real world. Over two decades, he has worked closely with print shops, trade printers, and print buyers, watching what goes right, what fails, and what quietly disappoints customers.
Because of that experience, he cares less about marketing claims and more about what shows up in the box. At PrintReviewer, John leads the test process so that every review starts with the same simple rule: we buy and test every product ourselves, just like a normal customer would.

Why he created PrintReviewer
PrintReviewer grew out of a simple idea John kept coming back to. If you really want to know which printing companies are worth your money, you need to look at the actual printed products, not only at sample photos or sales copy.
Together with a small team of contributors and experts, John built PrintReviewer to do exactly that. The site focuses on:
- Ordering real products from real storefronts
- Testing print quality, durability, and finishing in day to day use
- Comparing pricing, options, and turnaround times
- Calling out both strengths and problems in a clear, honest way
Independent, no sponsored shortcuts
For John, independence is non-negotiable. PrintReviewer does not take money from printing companies for reviews, and it does not accept payment to change or soften a verdict. If a product fails, the review will say so. If a company does something well, it gets credit for that too.
That is why every review on printreviewer.com is based on products the team actually ordered and used. John believes that this kind of testing is the only fair way to compare printing companies and printed products for real customers.
Leading the team
Today, John spends most of his time:
- Defining test methods so results stay consistent from one review to the next
- Working with contributors who bring expertise in design, packaging, labels, business printing, and more
- Reviewing notes, photos, and test results before any review goes live
PrintReviewer founder John Monsen is not trying to be a celebrity reviewer. He is a print industry veteran who wants buyers to have the kind of clear, practical information he wished his own clients had years ago. If you care about how your printed products actually look and feel, his work at PrintReviewer is meant to help you make better choices.
